As a director I am acutely aware that a large
proportion of my company's spend on training is wasted. The trouble
is, this cannot justify not doing it. I constantly need to upgrade
the skills of my staff and I need to train people for reasons
of culture and staff retention.
No I don't want to reduce the amount of training
we undertake, I want it to work!
There is nothing wrong with the training
itself - the problem appears when delegates come back to the workplace.
Our staff are busy, as are their managers. While managers would
like to sit down with their staff, find out how the training went
and set some relevant objectives to ensure that they applied what
they learnt, they often don't remember to do it.
We are all too busy. I cannot remember who
is doing training at any time far less support it!
But with MIM Performance Manager my
managers and I have all this information highlighted at just the
right time. We are prompted to do all those things we would really
like to do to support our staff in their training and development.
